Choosing a Web Designer
11/23/2005At Fusionbox, our project managers are marketing project managers. We start with the mission of the company, whether it’s to sell more widgets or to build brand awareness. Only when we fully understand the company’s goals and objectives do we even begin to talk layout, color, and content.
This inevitably leads to a discussion about search engine placement. Many of our clients are still have the, “if you build it, they will come.” It’s our job to teach them how their design, messaging, and content will give them better search engine positioning and in turn will sell those widgets, or build that brand.
An important caveat emptor for anyone looking for a web site is a web company that leads with design comps. If they lead with questions about your goals, who your target audience is, and what your ROI expectations are, they you’ve chosen the right company.
