Denver Social Media Marketing

Sometimes getting high ranking in search engines won’t work for your goals. This might be because your keywords are highly competitive and you don’t have the budget to compete with the big companies who have an in-house SEO team. Or your business or service has so many relevant keyphrases, it would be nearly impossible to rank for all of them.

This is where social media marketing comes in. Social Media Marketing (SMM) is using social networking outlets to create online buzz. What you are doing is essentially developing an online PR campaign.

You’ll have to be careful, though. SMM is a slippery slope as far as trustworthiness goes. It’s just like PR. You have to tell a good story and you have to pick the right outlets. Your content should be relevant, well-written, and draw in your audience.

Several companies got some bad publicity for launching SPLOGS. (See my previous Article “Beware the Splog”). Using Social Media in a tricky or non-transparent way, can result in the same distrust from users.

Consider this posting: "Get a Free SEO Analysis of Your Site. Or, this: “How Using Free Social Media Marketing Can Help Your Business.” Which headline is more likely to draw you in? The one with more meat, more targeted, and more information, of course.
