When you are developing content, you want to make sure that you have keyword phrases that you want to rank for included without overdoing it. Include too many keywords (or for that matter, links) and your content could appear spammy which will, in turn, get you a lower search engine ranking with possible penalties. Think of how you feel when you click on a link in a set of search results. If the website you clicked on is filled with too many links or spam content, you're outta there with a quickness.

 

Write content that is relevant to your target market. For example, if you run a website featuring vintage furniture, develop your content in such a way that it resonates with users and makes them want to come to your site. Adding a location is helpful too. Include keywords like “repurposed vintage furniture in Denver” or “DIY vintage dresser ideas”. Remember that although you do want to rank well in search engine queries, you are ultimately writing content that makes for a user friendly experience, which will drive traffic to your site and help increase your profits. After all, there is no point in building a website, or hiring a web development company if users don’t find it useful.
