Fusionbox Recycles!

Posted by fusionbox on Jan. 2, 2012, 5 p.m.

Even though Fusionbox has recycled since we opened our doors, we have become official contributors to Alpine Recycling in Commerce City, CO and have taken things one step further toward a cleaner environment by participating in commercial recycling.

Alpine Recycling conserved many resources in 2011, including 669,617 trees, 18,237,223 gallons of oil, 275,724,750 gallons of water, 945,342 gallons of gasoline, 141,014 cubic yards of landfill space, and 167,152,221 kWh of electricity.

Fusionbox now has a 95 gallon rolling tote that is picked up twice monthly by Alpine's new recycling program called Altogether Recycling.

What we are recycling: Any paper products, containers of any number, glass, metal, aluminum and more! Check out Altogether Recycling's complete list of recyclables. All of these items are commingled in the tote and Alpine Recycling separates it on their site, making it extremely easy for us to contribute to the cause.

For hard-to-recycle materials, Fusionbox recycles to the ChaRM center in Boulder, Colorado. Their list of accepted recyclables includes electronics, plastics, bicycles and parts, textiles, scrap metal and compost.

We are proud to recycle and we are excited to start 2012 helping our local environment. What are your New Year's resolutions for 2012?
